Canada Stand
At your service for on-site success!
International book fairs are the meeting place for the entire publishing industry. The worldwide network of fairs and salons is a driving force for the development of Canadian book exports.
To help Canadian publishers capitalize on these key networking opportunities, Livres Canada Books organizes collective stands ranging in size from 20 square metres to 250 square metres at some of the world’s major book fairs, including the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, the London Book Fair, and the Frankfurt Book Fair.
Livres Canada Books support
Livres Canada Books’ logistical support services allow publishers to concentrate fully on what are usually an intense few days of meetings and negotiations.
Publishers can choose from two levels of service: a complete turnkey package with fully equipped stands and services or a pied-à-terre option for publishers who want to conduct meetings on the collective stand but not display books.
Whichever level of service they choose, publishers benefit from Livres Canada Books support before, during and after the fair.
Pre-show services
Livres Canada Books works with fair organizers to secure the best location for the collective stand on the show floor. We work with contractors to build the stand, specifying the details of shelving, furniture, storage, lighting, electrical connections, carpeting and signage.
We register publishers with the fair and provide company information and names of key executives who are attending for inclusion in official fair catalogues and directories. We also promote publishers’ attendance at the fair in our own directories and on our website.
We obtain all necessary passes, badges and permits. We organize consolidated shipping so publishers can send material to fairs at competitive rates, and take care of customs, drayage, delivery and set-up. Throughout the preparation process, we keep publishers informed by sending them bulletins about issues and deadlines.
On-site services
Livres Canada Books employees set up and staff the Canada Stand, distribute promotional material and direct visitors to publishers’ representatives, whether they are exhibiting on the collective stand or elsewhere at the fair.
At some fairs, we offer a service area with coffee and refreshments as well as high-speed Internet access. We also visit other stands to track industry trends and discover new opportunities for Canadian publishers.
Post-show services
Once back in Canada, Livres Canada Books sends business leads to publishers and follows up on any other business arising from the fair. We evaluate how things went, suggest improvements and begin making plans for next year.
