In January, Livres Canada Books organized the Export Exchange conference in Montréal. It was a fantastic day, filled with fresh thinking and new perspectives from our speakers, and spirited conversation from our participants. A big, big, thank you to all who attended and helped us make the day a success!
The day started with a boost of caffeine, delivered via bicycle by Montréal’s Pista Café Mobile. With freshly ground coffee in hand, participants then made their way to the main conference room where they settled into hear from our lineup of speakers, including: Aymar Azaizia from Ubisoft, Michael Renaud from Pitchfork, Mariouche Gagné from Harricana, Megan Jones from Indie Thinking, Nicolas Rodelet from Labo de l’édition, Margot Atwell from Kickstarter, and Arnaud Granata from Infopresse. The day also included a number of workshops hosted by Yulism which offered attendees a chance for interactive discussions and exchanges with other publishers in attendance and other key players in creative content industries.
We couldn’t be more thrilled with the outcome of the event, and hope our participants gained insights into new approaches and international strategies. Publishing Perspectives wrote a fantastic article covering the event, titled “Importing ‘Fresh Thinking’ for Export Exchange in Canada“.
Videos of the presentations will be available on our website at the end of the month. Until then, here are a few photos of some of the day’s highlights. Enjoy!
